Hi Sarah

My only comment is that I though 3 had been sort of backed off on as we had said things could be done by using the data source changing functionality to link to queries, examples of which were circulated by Keith a few weeks back - but i may be mis-remembering.

But if I am remembering right, then that makes 3 drop off the list entirely.

best wishes

Dear all
Sorry I have been slow of the mark in taking these forwards.

The user group needs to make a final decision on the items below to enable exegesIS to progress with the developments. My recommendation would be do as Crispin suggests to push items 1 and 3 through as high priority, with item 2 on hold pending further consideration of the implications.

If any one has any objections to these developments, please can they either raise them for further discussion on the forum, or let me know directly by end of next Wednesday 14th. As always we have to progress on the basis of a consensus, but if anyone has a genuine concern we'll hold fire until the issues have been further discussed.

Best wishes
Sarah

Subject: [hbsmrusers] Development Reserve addition items following UserGroup meeting

Dear all
At the User Group meeting in London we agreed to provide some further Development Reserve costings to the list, regarding some items that were discussed at the meeting. We need a decision on these.

1. EUS work
We discussed how best to undertake EUS in HBSMR, and there was general agreement that using the HLC and Designations modules together would achieve best results, but only if some changes were made to the modules as follows:
Cosmetic changes on Designation and Monuments forms to alow the Designations module to better record non-statutory designation records (e.g. change red warning on Monuments form to include only certain types of designation, disappear "Grade" on Designations for ungraded types, remove mentions of "legal/statutory",etc). 1 day.
Add linkage between HLC and Designations records (new tab on each form, linking table, "Get from GIS" in both directions, etc) 6 days.
Allow HLC module to link to different map layers based on the BroadType - 4 days.
TOTAL 9 days

2. Monument Map Layers
Slightly related to this was a desire by some to have different map layers for Monuments, based on the Record Type.
Allow Monuments module to link to different map layers based on the RecordType - 6 days (more than for HLC because requires more changes to existing code).
TOTAL 6 days

3. Allow users to design their own custom index tabs
2 days research required, which may produce a solution, or may quantify the need for further work to achieve a solution.
TOTAL 2 days

I don't know how you want to make a decision on these items. Sarah perhaps you could decide how, and give us the result? Obviously we would like a definite decision as soon as possible.
Our recommendation would be to proceed immediately with 1 and 3, but delay 2 pending further discussion of the implications.

best wishes
Crispin
