[hbsmrusers] Heritage List reference concordance

Hi Ingrid,
I've just been working on this myself. I'm sure there is a quicker way, but I used a make table query to create a new table mirroring the Associated Files table with the appropriate DesigUIDs in. Used an update query to populate the empty fields. I generated the http link them using the following in the update query "#http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid="+[DesignationTbl].[PrefRef]+"#". Finally I appended the new table to the Associated Files table.
I hope this helps (hope I'm right!!)
Best wishes
Rob

Hi Crispin,
(Belatedly joining this discussion.) Some instructions on how to create the Assoc File hyperlink would be useful. I've tried to do this, and populated the relevant field in the Assoc File table, but the hyperlinks don't work. They only seem to work if added via the button on the Designation Form.
Best wishes

Crispin, I was mid email on exactly the same thing and agree totally!
Those using SHINE will have an example in their ini files of how to pass an assoc file into your GIS, which you can modify for use with other designations.
A set of instructions would be really helpful....
Sarah.

Hi Sarah
This is what Associated Files is for (OK the name does not quite reflect this use, but basically it is links to anything that can be hyperlinked!).
This can be auto-populated with hyperlinks to the new web site, from the identifiers (assuming these can be matched up with existing records).
And once there, it can be passed into GIS too.
We will be able to help with this during service visits, but could also put some self-help instructions out if people want (on how to create Assoc File hyperlink record from NationalRef).
Yours
Crispin

Hi Lucy and others
Continuing the debate about how everyone is going to concord in a concordantly way... I would like to have a field in Designation table with the hyperlink in it eg http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1117195 and I'd want this to go through to GIS pgdb table also. Too long (65 characters) to fit into Pref Ref/National Ref fields though this might be where I would like it, and most of my User fields seem to be full! Crispin/Richard, is it possible/ sensible to add this to Designations somewhere?
Thanks

Hi All
Now that we have the concordance list, can I just check what everyone is doing to make sure that I am thinking sensibly/being consistent with everyone else. Is it best to put the new List Entry number in the Pref Ref/National Ref fields, and then move the legacy UID into one of the currently unused fields ? At the moment, for Listed Buildings we transfer the National Ref and Other Ref (old greenback number) to the GIS table, and for Scheduled Monuments we transfer the National Ref to the GIS table. I think I would need to continue to make the legacy UID available in the GIS table so would need to transfer an additional field across if that is where the legacy UID gets stored. Changing the data in these GIS tables will have a knock-on effect with our correlation to our planning system, so I want to make sure that this is sensible before I do it. Any alternative ideas/suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks
Lucie
